Let’s Stamp Out Bullying
iCourses offers the first ever online program for school students which forms part of the whole school approach to bullying. Hampton Park Secondary College and Lyndhurst Secondary College were involved in a pilot program in 2006, with the course now available to all schools.
The innovative approach brings a number of benefits that can’t be gained by traditional teaching methods. The program provides a consistent anti-bullying message (based on DE&T information) to all students in participating schools over a short period of time.
Workplace Bullying and other unacceptable Behaviours
iCourses has developed a similar program for Workplace Bullying which is now available. This program is based on the 2003 WorkSafe Victoria Guidance Material “Prevention of Bullying and Violence at Work” and Human Rights Commission Information. A unique feature of this program is the online survey which gives employers a snapshot of the workplace culture and the ability to benchmark this information with general data.

"Directors Personally Fined over Workplace Bullying
A NSW Industrial Relations Commission decision serves as a clear warning that token fines in workplace bullying cases are not adequate penalties for a director.
WorkCover prosecuted a company and two of its four directors for breach of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 (NSW) (the Act) arising from an 'initiation' of a 16-year-old labourer. This was the first occupational health and safety prosecution of directors arising from workplace bullying in NSW.
The Chief Industrial Magistrate convicted the company and fined it $24,000 (almost half of the $55,000 maximum penalty available), in recognition of the seriousness of the offence. He found both directors guilty and imposed on each a $1,000 fine."

Working safely in the sun
iCourses and Sunsmart (The Cancer Council Victoria) have worked in partnership to develop a national, flexible training course ‘Working safely in the sun’ to educate all outdoor workers on the dangers of exposure to the sun’s UV radiation. This course is ideal for employee safety training, staff induction, refresher training programs and professional development for H&S representatives. The Cancer Council Australia states 1.2 million workers are at risk of developing skin cancer due to exposure to the sun while working outdoors. Worksafe Victoria’s weekly newsletter ‘Soapbox’ featured a colourful, factual article on the launch and the importance of Sunsmart resources to all outdoor workers.
